FERNANDO TORRES cut short his Euro celebrations to text a special vote of thanks to everyone at Anfield.

Liverpool’s £21.5m record buy said: “I want to thank the staff and players at Liverpool for their support.

"It makes a real difference when you have the backing of your club and because of this they share in our success.

“I had a wonderful first season at Anfield and the goals I scored gave me the belief I needed for the Euros.

“From the very moment I came to Liverpool I have been made to feel welcome.

"It is incredible because the Liverpool fans have given me so much support and I know they have even been supporting Spain.”

Torres, 24, added: “It is my first major title but I hope it will be the first of many because I want to win many more with Liverpool and Spain.”
