RENAISSANCE MAN ... Matt Prior

Matt aims for a higher level

MATTHEW PRIOR has another chance to become No1 England wicketkeeper — and this time he plans taking it with both hands.

The Sussex stumper was dumped last year after a string of dropped catches.

But Prior, 26, is back for the 50-over clash with South Africa at Headingley tomorrow.

He said: “I feel proud because when I was left out, some people were saying I might never be back.

“To perform for Sussex as I have this summer takes mental toughness.

“A lot of players are left out and they don’t manage to perform again for a couple of years.

“But this is just the start — I want to succeed for England.”

Scotland will replace Zimbabwe in next year’s World Twenty20 tournament in England.
